Little Green Light vs Bloomerang vs Salesforce

By Alex Gomez, Founder, Troppus Group · November 3, 2026 · 5 min read

Choose Little Green Light for simple, low-cost donor tracking, Bloomerang for donor engagement with unlimited users, and Salesforce when you need to track more than donors. Little Green Light and Bloomerang are both donor-focused CRMs priced by the number of records. Salesforce is a platform you shape around your work, priced per user, with free licenses available to eligible nonprofits.

This is a comparison from a Salesforce consultancy, so we'll be clear about where the other two win.

Pricing, checked

  • Little Green Light: its help page describes a single fee based on constituent records, from $45 per month for up to 2,500 to $135 per month for up to 50,000, with a discount for prepaying a year. That page was last updated in 2023, so confirm current pricing with them.
  • Bloomerang: its pricing page (checked November 2026) lists CRM from $125 per month, Fundraising from $40 per month (bundled with the CRM) and Volunteer from $119 per month, billed annually. It says every plan has unlimited users and that price depends on the number of records. Exact tiers are by quote.
  • Salesforce: the nonprofit pricing page (checked November 2026) says eligible nonprofits get 10 free licenses through Power of Us and discounted additional licenses. Setup and help are separate. See is Salesforce free for nonprofits.

Little Green Light: where it shines

It's affordable and focused. If your database is small and you need to record gifts, send acknowledgments and run standard reports, it does that at a low monthly cost. Its single-fee model is easy to budget for.

Where it may fall short: as your needs grow beyond donors and gifts, such as tracking programs or complex reporting, you may find yourself working around it. Check how it connects to your payment tool and email platform, and ask the vendor for specifics.

Bloomerang: where it shines

Bloomerang's CRM is built around keeping donors. Its pricing page lists donor management, predictive giving insights, marketing, reporting and a mobile app in the CRM. Unlimited users on every plan helps if your whole team needs access. It also sells fundraising and volunteer tools, so you can add pieces over time.

Where it may fall short: costs rise as you add modules and records. If you need to track program clients or highly custom processes, you may want something more flexible.

Salesforce: where it shines

Salesforce works best when donor management is one part of what you do. Programs, case notes, grants, volunteers and sensitive data can sit in one system with detailed control of who sees what. For healthcare-adjacent nonprofits, that matters.

Where it may fall short: it takes more design and ownership. Without someone to run it, it can become a place where data goes to age. Our guide to Nonprofit Cloud vs NPSP explains the two Salesforce nonprofit options.

How to choose

Answer these:

  1. How many records do you have, and how fast will they grow? Record-based pricing gets more expensive as you grow.
  2. How many staff need access? Per-user pricing and unlimited-user pricing behave very differently.
  3. What do you track besides donors? If the answer is "a lot", lean toward Salesforce.
  4. Who will own the system? If no one, lean toward a packaged tool.
  5. What integrations do you need? Ask each vendor to confirm in writing.

A rough rule: small team, donors only, tight budget, look at Little Green Light. Donor retention and unlimited users, look at Bloomerang. Multiple programs or sensitive data, look at Salesforce.

Three example situations

These are illustrative, not client stories.

A two-person development team with one database and a tight budget. They need gift records, acknowledgments and a few reports. Little Green Light's low entry pricing fits, as long as their needs stay simple.

A mid-size organization that depends on repeat donors and wants a whole team in the system. Unlimited users and a retention focus point to Bloomerang. They should price the modules they need, since fundraising and volunteer tools are separate lines.

An organization that runs several programs, keeps case notes, and reports to government funders. A donor-only tool will keep pushing them to spreadsheets for everything else. This is where Salesforce earns its extra setup. See Nonprofit Cloud vs NPSP for the two Salesforce nonprofit routes.

What to watch out for in any of them

  • Record-based pricing grows with you. Remove duplicates and stale records before you get a quote, but never delete donor history you need.
  • Users and permissions. Know whether every staff member and board member needs access, and what each can see.
  • Integrations. Confirm in writing how each connects to your forms and payment tools, and who maintains the connection.
  • Exit terms. Ask how to export your full history.
